Innovative Community Participation
Innovative community participation is one of the ways that we help our participants integrate with the community around them.
Our company is NDIS-certified. Our services have been used by a large customer base over the years. Our program aims to make participants capable of leading an independent life with little or no assistance. Our services include group and in-centre activities, specialised disability support, therapeutic support, exercise physiology and personal training, community involvement, assistive products and assistance for household tasks, life skill development, innovative community participation, shared living accommodation, community nursing care, assistive products, transport, daily activities, life stage transition, and access to and maintenance of employment.
Innovative community participation by NDIS could include, but is not limited to:
- Recreation: There is a provision for a limited number of recreational activities the person can participate in to see if it is of interest to them.
- Camping: This option lets them participate in group activities such as camps and training, which can improve their interpersonal skills, communication skills, etc.
- Ancillary items: These are items that might need to be customised to meet participant needs.
Under this programme, our trained and experienced support workers in Melbourne will create
opportunities for participants to help them communicate and interact with their community
safely. Through various professional, social and personal interactions, the participants can
connect and engage with other like-minded community members.
We carefully curate and organise these activities, keeping in mind our participants' individual needs and developmental goals. Our community participation events help participants with the following:
- Skill development exercises
- Build and maintain personal relationships
- Create opportunities for participants to explore new interests, career opportunities or hobbies
- Encourage participants to take part in community activities actively
- Conduct workshops to help participants find and retain employment
- Help participants cultivate their potential through various community events
